Peugeot 308 Hatchback

Running a greener fleet could also save you money. This is because, as a general rule, low CO2 emissions and high MPG work together in reducing excise duty and running costs.

Today environmental impact and lower CO2 emissions have become buzzwords for car manufacturers – not least because of government legislation and tax incentives. But rather than simply toe the line, we are proud to show a long-standing commitment to the environment that goes beyond current requirements.

Some examples of our present and future dedication to the environment:

  • Peugeot 207 99g Économique – the fuel consumption and emissions of the Économique have been reduced to the lowest levels possible by specially developed engine management software and the addition of an EGR heat exchanger to cool the re-injected exhaust gases. These engineering enhancements mean that the 207 Économique achieves 74.3 mpg on the combined cycle and has CO2 emissions of just 99 g/km.
  • HYbrid4 Technology – by combining a diesel engine and an electric motor, HYbrid4 will be the first diesel hybrid to be launched to the market. Compared to a conventional diesel engine, fuel consumption and CO2 will be markedly improved. The HYbrid 4 will be launched on the Peugeot 3008 in the winter of 2011.
  • The future – the end of 2010 will see Peugeot launch the iOn, an electric vehicle with a range of 80 miles that can be charged up to 80% in thirty minutes due to its fast charging system. Peugeot have also progressed into the next phase of their development of the BB1; an electric cross between a scooter and a car, that could be the future of urban transport.
