From mid-May, owners of cars that are more than ten years old will be able to scrap them and get £2,000 towards buying a brand new vehicle.
In the £300 million programme, the Government will give customers £1,000 when they scrap their old vehicle – which must have been registered before 31st July 1999. Car manufacturers will provide the remaining £1,000 discount.
